First Lady Oluremi Tinubu Meets Sheika Moza Bint Nasser in Qatar, Seeks Partnership to Tackle Almajiri Challenge
Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, on Monday held a strategic meeting with Her Highness Sheika Moza Bint Nasser Al-Missned, Founder of the Qatar Foundation, in Doha, Qatar. The discussion centered on potential collaborations aimed at addressing the Almajiri and out-of-school children crisis in Nigeria.
According to a statement shared on the First Lady’s verified Facebook page, Mrs. Tinubu reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to providing inclusive education through a new model that combines both Islamic and formal learning systems.
“With over 15 million children currently out of school, we are introducing a transformative model that integrates both Islamic and formal education, providing safe learning spaces, mosques, vocational training, and boarding facilities,” she said.

She further noted that Her Highness Sheika Moza assured her of the Qatar Foundation’s support and partnership with Nigeria’s Ministry of Education, particularly in training teachers and caregivers for the initiative.
Mrs. Tinubu also revealed that she visited the Qatar Foundation headquarters, where she learned that Nigeria already has 41 alumni from the Muhammad Khalifa University, reflecting growing educational ties between both nations.
“Together, we are building a future where every Nigerian child has access to quality education,” she concluded.
