Troops Intercept Six Suspected Terrorist Logistics Suppliers, Recover Starlink, Fertiliser in Borno
Troops of Sector 1, Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), have intercepted a suspected terrorist logistics network and arrested six suspects during an intelligence-led operation aimed at disrupting the supply chain of terrorist groups in the North-East.
The operation, conducted at about 4:00 p.m. on July 19, 2026, was based on credible intelligence and involved a coordinated stop-and-search exercise along a suspected terrorist logistics route.
According to a statement by the Acting Military Information Officer, Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East) Operation HADIN KAI, Captain Mohammed Goni, the operation led to the arrest of six suspected terrorist logistics suppliers travelling in five vehicles while conveying a large consignment of materials allegedly destined for terrorist elements.
Items recovered during the operation included 202 cartons of herbicides, one jerrycan containing suspected acid, one Starlink wireless internet communication system, six bags of NPK fertiliser, 10 bags of rice, 50 hoes, and 20 packs of knapsack sprayer pumps.
Captain Goni said preliminary assessment indicated that the recovered items comprised materials with potential dual-use applications capable of supporting terrorist logistics, sustainment, mobility and communications.
He added that the NPK fertiliser and the suspected acid would undergo further technical and forensic examination to determine their intended use, including any possible application in the fabrication of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs).
According to the statement, the seizure represents a significant disruption of a suspected terrorist logistics network and further degrades the ability of terrorist groups to sustain their operational activities.
The six suspects and all recovered items have been handed over to the appropriate Military Intelligence Regiment for comprehensive investigation to establish the intended recipients, identify the wider logistics network, and facilitate the arrest of other collaborators and sponsors.
The statement further revealed that preliminary debriefings of rescued hostages and surrendered terrorist families indicate that the sustained disruption of terrorist logistics and supply chains by Operation HADIN KAI has significantly weakened the operational capability of terrorist groups.
According to the debriefings, persistent shortages of food, medical supplies, communications equipment and other essential logistics have compelled many terrorists to abandon their hostages, families and enclaves while fleeing sustained military pressure.
Operation HADIN KAI reaffirmed its commitment to dismantling terrorist logistics and support networks through sustained intelligence-driven operations. It noted that troops will continue to target terrorists, their financiers, logistics suppliers, informants and collaborators in order to deny them the resources, freedom of movement and operational capability required to sustain terrorist activities.
The operation added that continued degradation of terrorist logistics remains a key operational objective and has contributed significantly to forcing terrorists to abandon their enclaves, surrender in increasing numbers and release captives held in their camps.
The military also urged members of the public to continue supporting security agencies by providing timely and credible information on suspicious persons, movements and activities within their communities, stressing that such cooperation remains vital to the success of ongoing counter-terrorism operations and the restoration of lasting peace and security in the North-East.
