Sam Amuka, Soni Irabor, and Bamiji Ojo were among the veteran journalists that were jonoured at the maiden edition of Journalism Clinic’s ‘Appreciation Day’.

The Journalism Clinic, a media training and consultancy organisation, hosted the event in honour of senior Nigerian journalists over 70 years old on Wednesday.

Taiwo Obe, founder of Journalism Clinic, said the event was to appreciate “men and women who spent their younger years, some are still actively informing, educating and entertaining Nigerians”.

The ceremony was held at the Adebutu Kessington media resource centre at the Nigerian Institute of Journalism (NIJ).

The event opened with the retired reporters and editors, and now publishers and media owners exhibiting some of their columns — local and international.

The veteran journalists shared their work experience across the journalism sector, including print, radio, and television.
