Olorunda LCDA Chairman Welcomes UBEC Executive to Iworo for Smart Model School Project Inspection

UBEC assures Federal Government’s commitment as Olorunda LCDA pledges support for the landmark education project in Badagry.

The Executive Secretary of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), Dr. (Hajiya) Aisha Garba, on August 27, 2025, led a high-powered delegation to Iworo, Olorunda Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Badagry, to inspect the ongoing Smart Model School Project.

The team paid homage to HRM Oba Oladele Kosoko, Oniworo of Iworo Kingdom, who donated the land for the project, and reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to its smooth and timely completion.

Welcoming the delegation, Hon. Ajose Peter Kumayon, Executive Chairman of Olorunda LCDA, described the initiative as a major milestone for education and development in Olorunda. He expressed deep gratitude to the Federal Government and pledged the council’s full cooperation to ensure the project’s success.

Also in attendance were Hon. Babatunde Hunpe (Chairman, Badagry LG), Hon. Rauf Ibrahim Kayode Yemaren (Chairman, Badagry West LCDA), alongside other dignitaries and stakeholders.

The Smart Model School Project is expected to transform access to quality education in the area, positioning Olorunda and Badagry as key beneficiaries of Nigeria’s expanding basic education infrastructure.
