The South East Council of Traditional Rulers has conferred the prestigious chieftaincy title of Aka Epuchionwa Igboland on High Chief Duru Mike Ejiogu, in recognition of his exceptional contributions to peace, economic progress, and cultural preservation across the Igbo nation.
Among the prominent voices celebrating this milestone is Chief Obinna Onuchukwu, Chairman of Muna Suites Hotel, Owerri, and National Secretary of the Akuluno United Brothers Association (AUBA). He described the honour as “a true testament” to High Chief Ejiogu’s unwavering commitment to the socio-economic advancement of Igboland.
Speaking in a telephone conversation with Njoku Macdonald Obinna, Chief Onuchukwu praised Ejiogu’s leadership ethos and his deep-rooted belief in Akuluno—the philosophy of channeling wealth and development back home through community projects, job creation, and youth empowerment initiatives tied to his thriving business enterprises.
The title Aka Epuchionwa symbolises a rare status of influence, benevolence, and enduring legacy within the Igbo traditional hierarchy. High Chief Ejiogu’s entrepreneurial journey has not only built formidable business ventures but also consistently uplifted communities, providing opportunities and infrastructure that foster growth and prosperity.
