Security Operatives Arrest Kidnap Suspects, Recover ₦8m Ransom in Plateau

Security operatives in Plateau State have recorded a major breakthrough in the fight against kidnapping, arresting two suspected kidnappers and recovering ₦8 million ransom linked to a deadly abduction.

The suspects, identified as Waltu Watter and Sale Mamma, are alleged to have carried out a violent attack that resulted in the death of Alhaji Saidu Mamma and the abduction of his daughter.

Although the family reportedly paid millions of naira to secure her release, swift intervention by security forces led to the arrest of the suspects and the full recovery of the ransom.In a related development, another victim, Mrs. Gambo Bello, was rescued from the dense forest of the Pandam Game Reserve after spending over a week in captivity.

Recounting her ordeal, she described a tense gun battle between security operatives and her abductors, who fled under sustained fire, leaving her behind.

Reacting to the development, the Chairman of Qua’an Pan Local Government Area, Christopher Audu Manship, reaffirmed the council’s zero-tolerance stance on crime, vowing that no criminal elements would be allowed to operate or find refuge within the area.
