Ogun Cybervilla train new set of Certified Digital Technicians
The Ogun State Government’s Public-Private Partnership (PPP) initiative has continued to yield impressive results, as a fresh batch of certified digital technicians has successfully graduated from the CyberSquad Training Programme, a free digital empowerment scheme jointly organized by the state government and Cybervilla.
The convocation ceremony for the pioneer associates of the programme was held at the Ogun TechHub, Abeokuta, marking another milestone in Governor Dapo Abiodun’s ongoing drive to build a knowledge-based and technology-driven economy.
The CyberSquad Training Programme is part of the government’s strategic efforts to strengthen youth capacity in the digital economy by equipping participants with practical skills in hardware repairs, equipment configuration, and advanced technical support.
Speaking at the event, the Chief Executive Officer of Cybervilla, Mr. Ifeanyi Adirika, described the collaboration as a true reflection of Governor Abiodun’s visionary commitment to empowering young people through productive partnerships.
“Partnering with the Ogun State Government to provide free technical training to youths demonstrates the sincerity and impact of this PPP initiative. Cybervilla is proud to be one of the state’s leading technology partners,” Adirika said.
He noted that registration for the next cohort of the training is ongoing via https://bit.ly/cybersqaudabeokutacohort2, adding that graduates from the pilot batch have formed a strong network of skilled and forward-thinking technicians contributing to Nigeria’s growing digital workforce and enhancing Ogun State’s tech identity.
In his remarks, the Head of Service, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya, represented by the Director of Standard Regulations, Planning and Research at the Bureau of Information Technology, Mrs. Olatundun Adekunte, commended Governor Abiodun for establishing the Ogun TechHub — a platform that continues to expose young people to opportunities in technology, innovation, and digital marketing.
“The Ogun TechHub and initiatives like this have significantly expanded access to skills that make our youths globally competitive. I urge the graduates to spread awareness about this programme so that more young people can benefit and unemployment can be further reduced,” he added.
One of the beneficiaries, Mr. Timilehin Ajisebutu, who spoke on behalf of the graduating trainees, expressed gratitude to the Ogun State Government and Cybervilla for making their dream of becoming certified digital technicians a reality.
“We are thankful for this life-changing opportunity and promise to put the skills and knowledge acquired during the three-month training to productive use,” he said.
The partnership between the Ogun State Government and Cybervilla, initiated earlier this year, underscores the administration’s resolve to promote digital inclusion, enhance youth employability, and build a vibrant technology ecosystem capable of supporting the state’s digital economy and innovation agenda.
