‎MAJOR GENERAL SINYINAH NICODEMUS ASSUMES DUTY AS THE 8TH EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF NAFARL

Major General Sinyinah Nicodemus, has assumed command as the 8th Executive Director (ED), Nigerian Army Farms and Ranches Limited (NAFARL). He assumed command today, 3 November 2025, following a handover ceremony witnessed by both military and civilian staff of the farm. The handover is consequent upon the appointment of new service chiefs and the redeployment of senior officers which followed their appointments.

‎the brief but impressive handing-and-taking-over ceremony between Major General Nicodemus and his predecessor, Major General Olaniyi Michael Dare, was held at NAFARL headquarters, Abuja.

‎In his farewell address, the outgone ED, Major General Olaniyi Dare, appreciated God Almighty for a successful journey and a fulfilled career in the military. He thanked officers, soldiers, and civilian staff for their support throughout his tenure. He emphasised the importance of maintaining the same level of support for the new ED. He expressed confidence in the abilities of the new ED to move NAFARL to greater heights.

‎Expressing his gratitude, the new ED, Major General Sinyinah Nicodemus, acknowledged the trust and confidence placed in his appointment by the COAS, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu. He equally acknowledged the efforts of his predecessor and pledged to consolidate upon legacies already laid in NAFARL, to drive food security and propel the farm to new heights.

‎”Food security is a national project we should be able to realise”, he emphasised. Major General Nicodemus called for the continued support of officers and staff of NAFARL.

‎The new ED, Major General Nicodemus, has vast military experience and academic qualifications. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry, 2 Master’s Degrees in Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice, as well as a Master’s Degree in Security and Strategic Studies.

He also holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Defence and Security Studies. The senior officer has attended all mandatory courses and served in various Nigerian Army formations, Units and Operations. Until he was appointed the 8th ED NAFARL, he was the Director Lessons Learnt at the Army Headquarters Department of Army Transformation and Innovation.

‎High points of the ceremony included a guided tour of the farm, a farewell address by the outgoing ED, the signing of the handing-and-taking-over note, the handover of the command flag, and a group photograph to commemorate the event.
