The people of Magbon community in Olorunda LCDA, Lagos State, have commended the State Government for resuming work on the pedestrian bridge along the Magbon axis of the Lagos-Badagry Expressway, describing it as a life-saving intervention that will curb road accidents.

Speaking on behalf of the Landlords and Tenants Association, Mr. Olushogo Adamson said the bridge project reflects government’s responsiveness to the safety concerns of residents and commuters along the busy corridor.

He, however, appealed to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to also revisit and complete the Magbon Obelele road project, with an extension to Esepe and Araromi Town.

Adamson recalled that the road project was initiated during the administration of former Governor Akinwunmi Ambode but was abandoned midway. He stressed that completing and extending the road would not only ease movement but also open up rural communities in the corridor to investment, commerce, and socio-economic development.

The community’s appeal underscores residents’ desire for inclusive infrastructure development that balances safety with long-term growth.
