LSADA Hosts Farmers’ Advisory Meetings, Reaffirms Support for Poultry Sector
The Lagos State Agricultural Development Authority (LSADA) has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening farmers’ capacity, improving productivity, and promoting sustainable agricultural practices across the state.
Speaking at the second annual Farmers’ Advisory Meeting for Ayedoto Poultry Farmers in Ojo LGA, held on September 17, 2025, the Coordinating Director of LSADA, Mrs. Aderonke Toju-Tubi, said the forum was designed to provide a platform for guidance, knowledge-sharing, and improved agribusiness practices.
Represented by the Director of Extension Services, Mrs. Olusola Ebhota, Toju-Tubi noted that LSADA remains dedicated to interventions that enable farmers to adopt modern techniques and innovations for higher efficiency and productivity.
Highlighting the agency’s field activities, Mr. Temitope Ojo, Head of Field Activities, stressed the importance of the advisory meetings in addressing production challenges and strengthening competitiveness within the poultry industry.
Also speaking, Mr. Saka Musa, Specialist (Livestock), outlined the critical role of poultry farming in nutrition, employment creation, and the agricultural value chain. He encouraged farmers to embrace improved management practices to enhance profitability.
To deepen sustainability, Mr. Samuel Owagbemi, of the Rural Institutions Development component, delivered a lecture on financial literacy, underscoring the need for proper record-keeping, sound financial planning, and investment strategies.
The meeting concluded with an interactive session led by Block Extension Supervisor for Ojo, Mrs. Taofikat Owoyale, during which farmers engaged in open dialogue, shared experiences, and discussed pressing challenges.
The event, LSADA noted, reflects the Lagos State Government’s drive under the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Systems to empower farmers, boost food security, and ensure a resilient agricultural sector.
