LAWMA Receives Delegates from Bauchi State
The Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) on Tuesday received members of the Bauchi State Executive Council on an educational visit to the Authority’s headquarters in Ijora-Olopa.
Welcoming the team, the Managing Director/CEO of LAWMA, Dr. Muyiwa Gbadegesin, expressed appreciation for their interest in the Authority’s operations, noting that waste management is a critical sector that cuts across every aspect of human life.

Dr. Gbadegesin added that LAWMA had recently hosted delegates from Nasarawa and Ekiti States who came to understudy its latest innovations in waste management, stressing that the Authority has remained open to strategic partnerships and collaborations with stakeholders across the country.
Responding, Bauchi State Commissioner for Trade and Commerce, Mr. Muhammad Salis Gamawa, commended LAWMA for its strategic efforts in managing the waste generated by over 25 million Lagos residents. He noted that Lagos had consistently been a pacesetter in innovative governance practices.
Gamawa also disclosed Bauchi State’s readiness to partner with LAWMA in agriculture and the circular economy, describing it as a win-win opportunity for both states.
The meeting was attended by LAWMA’s management staff.
