Engr. Celestine Opurum Congratulates High Chief Duru Mike Ejiogu on Conferment as Onowu Igboland
The immediate past President-General of the United Isu Progressive Union (UIPU) Federated, Engr. Sir. Celestine Opurum, MBA, FCMI, KSJI (Ekwueme of Dim Na Nume Isu), has extended heartfelt congratulations to High Chief Duru Mike Ejiogu on his recent conferment as Onowu Igboland by the South East Council of Traditional Rulers.
The prestigious chieftaincy title was conferred on Saturday, August 23, 2025, in recognition of Ejiogu’s sterling leadership, philanthropy, and commitment to youth empowerment initiatives across Igboland.
In his congratulatory message made available to the media, Engr. Opurum described the honour as both well-deserved and a true testament to High Chief Ejiogu’s enduring legacy as a respected community leader.
“High Chief Ejiogu’s recognition by the South East Council of Traditional Rulers is a strong confirmation of his rich track record as a philanthropist and employer of labour. It is an accolade befitting a man of his calibre,” Opurum stated.
He further noted that the chieftaincy honour would serve as an inspiration for Ejiogu to deepen his impact on the Igbo nation through expanded philanthropic ventures, youth development programmes, and community-building initiatives.
Opurum commended the South East Council of Traditional Rulers for recognising High Chief Ejiogu’s contributions, adding that the title of Onowu Igboland carries a symbolic weight that underscores the role of traditional institutions in celebrating excellence, service, and dedication to humanity.
