Gov. Otti Swears In Two Commissioners, Reshuffles Abia Cabinet
Umuahia, Abia State — September 23, 2025 — The Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, has sworn in two newly appointed commissioners and a special adviser while announcing a minor cabinet reshuffle aimed at boosting governance efficiency.
During the ceremony, Governor Otti charged the appointees to bring professionalism, integrity, and innovation into their new roles, stressing his administration’s commitment to delivering quality governance to the people of Abia.
New Appointments

- Dr. Mrs. Salome Nkemakolam Obiukwu — Commissioner for Trade and Commerce
- Arc. Chiemela Charles Uzoije — Commissioner for Housing
- Prince Christian Enweremadu — Special Adviser on Agriculture
Cabinet Reshuffle
As part of the reorganization:
- Mr. Chaka Chukwumerije is now Commissioner for Lands.
- Mr. Kingsley Nwokocha has been redeployed to the Ministry of Labour and Productivity.
Governor Otti explained that the reshuffle was intended to ensure optimal deployment of talent across ministries, strengthening service delivery in critical sectors.
The governor reaffirmed his administration’s resolve to implement reforms that would drive economic growth, infrastructure renewal, and job creation across the state.
