2025 World Teachers Day: NUT Lagos chapter declares Monday 6th public holiday
The leadership of Nigeria Union of Teachers, Lagos State Wing has inform all teachers in Lagos State that Monday, 6th October, 2025 has been officially declared a Work-Free Day for teachers, in line with the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education’s approved school calendar for the 2025 academic year.
In a statement made available to the media and signed by Assistant Secretary of the Union, the Work-Free Day is in commemoration of this year’s World Teachers’ Day, which falls on Sunday, 5th October, 2025.
“All teachers are enjoined to observe the day meaningfully and continue to uphold the dignity and excellence of the teaching profession. “
