Nigeria projected a bold strategic vision for the future of airpower at the Future Air Force Conference in Prague, Czech Republic, held from 17–18 September 2025.

The Nigerian delegation, led by Air Vice Marshal IH Etukudo, Chief of Policy and Plans, joined senior officers and defence experts from across Africa, Europe, and the United States. Nations represented included Uganda, Ghana, Ethiopia, France, and the USA, alongside global defence industry leaders.

Delivering a keynote address, AVM Etukudo highlighted the Nigerian Air Force’s modernisation agenda—focused on agility, resilience, and technology-driven solutions aligned with the nation’s evolving security landscape.

The conference explored critical themes such as pilot training, modernisation of syllabuses, instructor expertise, and airspace management, while also emphasising collaboration across diplomacy, security, R&D, and the aviation industry.

Nigeria’s active participation reaffirmed its growing role as a credible partner in global security. Engagements with stakeholders provided insights into leveraging technology, refining airpower strategy, and enhancing international partnerships.

These outcomes reflect the vision of the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, to build a future-ready Nigerian Air Force capable of contributing to both national defence and international stability.

As AVM Etukudo noted:

“The Nigerian Air Force is committed to building partnerships that drive innovation, enhance capability, and foster collective security in today’s complex global environment.”
