Abuja, Nigeria — The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has officially welcomed 275 newly commissioned officers into its ranks, marking a new chapter of service and sacrifice for the country.

The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hassan Bala Abubakar, congratulated the officers on completing their rigorous training at the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), describing the moment as both the end of one journey and the beginning of a noble mission to serve the fatherland.

Core Values and Readiness

As they don the Air Force blue, the new officers embody the NAF’s core values of being Willing, Able, and Ready. Their arrival strengthens the Service’s operational capacity in safeguarding Nigeria’s sovereignty, especially in ongoing asymmetric warfare operations where precision, professionalism, and innovation are critical.

Commitment to Security

Air Marshal Abubakar emphasised that their commissioning comes at a time when the NAF is adopting cutting-edge strategies, smarter firepower, and teamwork to stay ahead of evolving threats. “Their dedication is crucial to safeguarding lives and ensuring peace across the nation,” he noted.

Transformative Leadership

The commissioning aligns with the visionary command philosophy of the CAS, which prioritises excellence, integrity, welfare, and people-focused service delivery. The new officers are expected to uphold these ideals while contributing to the Service’s broader mission of projecting airpower in defence of Nigeria.

The NAF family — comprising officers, airmen, airwomen, and civilian staff — celebrated the commissioning with pride, expressing confidence that the young officers will soar to greater heights in service to the nation.
