Major General Ibrahim assumes command in Nigeria Army Ordinance Corps
A new phase of innovative transformation has begun in the Nigerian Army Ordnance Corps (NAOC) as Major General Abdullahi Garba Ibrahim officially assumed duty as the 32nd Corps Commander Ordnance. The colourful and well-attended handing and taking over ceremony took place on Tuesday, 4 November 2025, at the Headquarters Nigerian Army Ordnance Corps, Abalti Barracks, Ojuelegba, Lagos.

Assistant Director Army Public Relations Headquarters Nigerian Army Ordnance Corps says:
“Prior to his appointment, Major General Ibrahim served at the Nigerian Army Heritage and Future Centre (NAHFC), Abuja, where he distinguished himself through professionalism and commitment to service.
In his inaugural address, Major General Ibrahim described his appointment as a rare privilege and expressed deep appreciation to his predecessor, Major General Henry Tafida Wesley, for his exceptional leadership, mentorship, and remarkable contributions to the growth and development of the Ordnance Corps and the Nigerian Army in general. He further acknowledged that Major General Wesley’s exemplary leadership style had greatly inspired officers and soldiers within the Corps.
In his farewell remarks, the outgoing Corps Commander Ordnance, Major General Henry Tafida Wesley, expressed gratitude to Almighty God for a successful tenure and appreciated the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu for their confidence and continuous support. He also extended appreciation to his colleagues, friends, senior officers, officers, soldiers, and civilian staff of Headquarters NAOC for their steadfast cooperation during his period in command.
He urged all personnel of the Corps to maintain a high level of discipline, dedication, and professionalism and to extend their full support to the new Corps Commander Ordnance, ensuring the continued progress of the Corps.
The highlights of the ceremony included the formal signing of the handing and taking over notes, decoration of the new Commander with the Corps insignia and lineyard, ceremonial handing over of the Corps Command flag, Inspection of the Quarter Guard, lowering and hoisting of the outgoing and incoming Command flags and the historic group photographs.
The event was graced by senior military officers of the NAOC, friends, and well-wishers from across the country, marking a seamless transition of leadership within the Nigerian Army Ordnance Corps.
