LASG to Host 2025 Job Fair to Tackle Youth Unemployment in Lagos
The Lagos State Government, through the Ministry of Wealth Creation and Employment, has announced the 2025 Lagos Job Fair, scheduled for Thursday, September 11, 2025, at the Blue Roof, Lagos State Television, Ikeja.
Themed “Your Career, Your Way: Explore Endless Possibilities,” the Job Fair will connect thousands of young people with employment and entrepreneurial opportunities across diverse sectors of the economy.
In a statement, the Honourable Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment, Hon. Akinyemi Bankole Ajigbotafe, said the initiative underscores Lagos’ commitment to tackling youth unemployment, nurturing talent, and fostering innovation in line with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s T.H.E.M.E.S Plus Agenda, particularly its focus on education, technology, and building a 21st-century economy.
The 2025 edition will feature:
- On-the-spot interviews and recruitment by leading organisations.
- One-on-one career consultations with industry professionals.
- Panel sessions with top business leaders and thought experts.
- Workshops on résumé writing, interview techniques, digital product creation, and entrepreneurship.
Highlighting the impact of past editions, Ajigbotafe revealed that the 2024 Job Fair attracted over 3,000 participants, many of whom secured meaningful jobs. This year’s edition, he assured, will expand these gains by bridging the gap between talent and opportunity while equipping young people with digital skills and access to vital networks.
The Permanent Secretary, Esv. Wasiu Adebayo Olayinka, urged job seekers, graduates, and professionals to register early, assuring that adequate preparations have been made for a successful and impactful event.
