Lagos boost tourism visit cultural sites
In line with the Lagos Cultural Mission Agenda, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mr. Idris Aregbe, alongside the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr. Olanrewaju Bajulaiye, and staff of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, embarked on a cultural exploration of key heritage sites in Epe as part of activities marking the 2025 Kayokayo Festival on Saturday, July 26, 2025.
The team visited the Sungbo Eredo Rampart, a remarkable system of defensive walls and ditches, believed to have been constructed in honour of Oloye Biliku Sungbo, a revered Ijebu noble woman.

The site is recognized as a potential UNESCO World Heritage Site due to its historical and architectural significance.
They also paid a visit to the First Central Mosque in Epe, further highlighting the Ministry’s commitment to preserving and promoting cultural and religious heritage in Lagos State.
