International Children’s Day: Lagos Commissioner Ogunlende fights bullying with motivational talks
“Beyond statutory dates, our children are indeed the future, and every day is a chance to celebrate them”
It was with this wonderful quotes that Lagos states Commissioner for youths and Social Development address the cross section of students as they celebrates International Children Day.
In his words “Today, we celebrated International Children’s Day 2025 at the Adeyemi Bero Auditorium, Alausa, Ikeja, with a powerful theme: ‘Stand Up, Speak Up: Building a Bully-Free Generation.’ On reasons for the event, Ogunlende said: “We brought together children from schools across the Lagos District to sensitize and empower them against bullying, promoting kindness and empathy.”
The event featured movie screenings, lectures, and debates, showcasing students’ understanding of this critical issue. “By advocating for a bully-free environment, we are reinforcing our commitment to creating a safe and nurturing space for all children in Lagos. As we say, ‘Not in Our Lagos!’ – we stand united against bullying.”he concludes.
