The Niger Delta Peace and Security Forum has commended the Nigerian Armed Forces for what it described as sustained and impactful operations against oil theft and illegal refining activities in the Niger Delta.

The group gave the endorsement on Friday during a rally in Port Harcourt, noting that the intensified military campaign is beginning to reverse years of economic sabotage and environmental degradation in the oil-producing region.

In a statement signed by its Convener, Mr. Inko-Tariah Micheal, the forum praised the armed forces for maintaining consistent pressure on crude oil thieves, stressing that the ongoing operations are critical to safeguarding Nigeria’s oil revenue and restoring investor confidence in the sector.

The forum also lauded the Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede, describing his leadership as pivotal to the renewed protection of oil and gas infrastructure across the Niger Delta’s creeks and waterways.

According to the group, the improved security around critical energy assets has not only disrupted illegal bunkering networks but has also sent a strong signal of the federal government’s resolve to protect national resources and ensure sustainable development in the region.
