In a landmark move to transform Anambra’s energy sector, Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) to provide uninterrupted power supply across the state.

The signing ceremony took place at the Anambra State Executive Council Chambers, Government House, Awka.

Governor Soludo described the agreement as a “historic day for Ndi Anambra,” noting that reliable electricity is essential to achieving his vision of a liveable and prosperous homeland.

“I signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) to ensure that power supply in the state is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

It is a historic day for the people and the state. This signing will completely translate into positive changes, which is critical for the journey towards prosperity,” Soludo stated.

The governor further explained that even before assuming office, he had prioritized power supply as a foundation for development, particularly in key cities across the state.

“What we did today was to consummate that marriage. The courtship began over a year ago, and I am overjoyed that the marriage has finally been sealed,” he said.

Soludo emphasized that the success of the initiative would depend on collaboration between the government, EEDC, and citizens.

“We must all work together to ensure that we have a stable and continuous power supply in Anambra State. Anambra will continue to win!” he added.

The MoU marks a new chapter for the state, setting the stage for industrial growth, job creation, and improved quality of life for residents.
