Change of Baton at Army Headquarters as Lt Gen Oluyede hands over to Major General Shuaibu
A change of leadership is taking place at the Nigerian Army Headquarters, Abuja, as the outgoing Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, formally hands over to the incoming Chief of Army Staff, Major General Waidi Shuaibu.
The handing and taking over ceremony, currently in progress, marks a significant transition in the Army’s top command. It reflects the institution’s tradition of orderly succession and its continued commitment to professionalism, discipline, and the defence of national security.

Lieutenant General Oluyede, who has served with distinction, is passing the mantle of leadership to Major General Shuaibu, who now assumes responsibility for steering the Nigerian Army through its next phase of operational and strategic engagements.
