CAS Charges NAF Troops in Birnin Gwari to Stay Vigilant, Commissions Worship Centres
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has restated its unwavering commitment to the welfare and morale of frontline personnel, while charging them to remain vigilant in their mission to protect civilians from bandits and insurgents.
This call was made on 3 September 2025 during the commissioning of worship centres and welfare projects at the 4135 Force Protection Wing, Birnin Gwari, Kaduna State. The projects include a Christian chapel, a Muslim mosque, a mini-mart, and a Quarter Guard Stand, all executed under the command philosophy of the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, which prioritises personnel welfare as a foundation of operational effectiveness.
Representing the CAS, the Air Officer Commanding, Air Training Command (AOC ATC), Air Vice Marshal Ahmed Yusuf Dari, commended the troops for their sacrifices and professionalism in degrading criminal networks and restoring relative calm to previously terrorised communities.
He urged them to remain vigilant, united, and disciplined, stressing that their mission transcends combat operations:
“The communities we protect are safer today because of your efforts. But you must remain watchful, support one another in the field, and never forget that our ultimate duty is to shield civilians from harm.”
AVM Dari further highlighted that respect for civilian populations and unity of purpose are critical to mission success, encouraging troops to continue building trust with host communities.
He assured the personnel of the unwavering support of the CAS, noting that the commissioned projects demonstrate NAF’s determination to balance combat readiness with the welfare, resilience, and spiritual needs of its personnel.
By integrating welfare projects with operational goals, the NAF continues to enhance both its effectiveness on the battlefield and its bond with the communities it serves.
