Bar Aloysius Osuji Felicitates High Chief JohnBosco Ozigbu on Conferment as Ikenga Igboland

The Lord Mayor of Isu Clan hails Ozigbu’s iconic philanthropy, community service, and enduring legacy as he receives one of Igboland’s most revered titles.

The Lord Mayor of Isu Clan in Imo State, His Highness Bar Aloysius Osondu Osuji, has joined the people of Nwangele Local Government Area and Ndi Imo in celebrating the recent honour bestowed on High Chief JohnBosco Chukwuma Ozigbu, Ph.D (Ogwuaga of Ogwuaga), who was conferred with the prestigious title of Ikenga Igboland by the South East Council of Traditional Rulers on Saturday, August 23, 2025.

In a congratulatory message made available to Njoku Macdonald Obinna, publisher of 4th Estate Reporters, Bar. Osuji, a respected black lawyer in the United Kingdom, described the conferment as a “resounding affirmation of Ozigbu’s sterling qualities, philanthropic legacy, and unwavering commitment to the socio-economic development of Igboland.”

“On behalf of the people of Isu na Eliligbarogu, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to High Chief Ozigbu on this epoch-making recognition,” Osuji stated.
“This title encapsulates his life’s work—his strength, action, and unparalleled achievements.”

Bar. Osuji highlighted Ozigbu’s many contributions, including massive road networks that have boosted commerce, extensive youth and family empowerment programmes, and political mentorship that was pivotal in the historic rise of Rt. Hon. Amara Chyna Iwuanyanwu to the office of Deputy Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly.

He further described Ozigbu as “a steadfast friend and benevolent force” whose influence transcends community boundaries, bringing progress and unity across the region.

“By crowning you Ikenga Igboland, the traditional institution has validated what we have long known in Isu Eliligbarogu—that you are destined to be a chief architect of a progressive and united Igboland. We celebrate you, your family, and your community. May Chukwu Abiama grant you greater wisdom, strength, and health as you take on this sacred mantle of leadership.”

The conferment of Ikenga Igboland is considered one of the most revered traditional titles in the South East, symbolising strength, valor, leadership, and cultural pride.
