Uzodimma Commissions ICT-Driven Land Information Centre in Imo
Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, on Thursday commissioned the Imo Land Information Service Centre in Owerri, marking a major step toward digitising land administration and strengthening investor confidence in the State.
Speaking at the unveiling, the governor stressed that restoring trust in land governance remains central to attracting meaningful investment.
“Building the confidence level of investors remains a key measure in driving home the investment we desire in our dear Imo State,” he said. “In this regard, we have taken deliberate steps to protect the interests of our people, investors, and developers who have concerns about land matters across the State.”
Governor Uzodimma noted that the new system would put an end to years of land fraud and uncertainty.
“Gone are the days when people’s lands could be grabbed, stolen, or illegally sold,” he declared. “With this system now in place, anyone can remotely search and verify information on any land within the State, ensuring transparency and eliminating long-standing concerns.”
He urged developers and investors to take advantage of the improved business environment, assuring that Imo’s strengthened institutions and transparent governance structure are designed to support sustainable investment.
“With our strengthened institutions and transparent system of governance, we are creating an environment where investment thrives and confidence is fully restored,” he added.
