…As armed robbers spread terror, kill one, snatch motorcycles

Residents of Magbon and neighbouring Pure Water, Airfield, and Oko Afo communities along the Lagos–Badagry Expressway have cried out to the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Moshood Jimoh, over what they described as recurring armed robbery attacks that have left many in fear for their lives.

On Saturday night around 9:30 p.m., terror struck when suspected armed robbers stormed Pure Water community—ironically home to the Area K Police Command. The criminals reportedly snatched about five motorcycles before advancing towards Airfield, Magbon Road, where they allegedly shot a man dead.

According to an eyewitness, Mr. Suraju, the robbers used the victim’s body to block the road, luring unsuspecting passersby who mistook the scene for an accident. Those who attempted to rescue the victim were instead robbed at gunpoint, as the gang escaped through Zoo Road towards Araromi Ale community.

It was further gathered that operatives from Morogbo Police Station later arrived to evacuate the body.

Mr. Suraju and other residents have now appealed passionately to the Lagos Police Command and other security agencies to urgently intervene, restore peace, and protect lives and property in the affected communities.
