Lagos Government Engages Computer Village Traders on Relocation to Katangowa ICT and Business Park
Lagos, Nigeria โ The Lagos State Government has renewed efforts to relocate traders at Ikejaโs Computer Village to the ICT and Business Park in Katangowa, Agbado Oke-Odo, with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu directing that the process must be inclusive and transparent.
At a stakeholdersโ meeting held on Otigba Street, Ikeja, the Permanent Secretary of the Office of Urban Development, Arc. Gbolahan Owodunni Oki, assured traders that the relocation will be a โwin-winโ for both government and business operators.
โIn line with the Governorโs directive and to demonstrate the openness of the Lagos State Government, we have brought this meeting to you in your market for the first time since the commencement of the exercise some 15 years ago,โ Oki said.

According to him, the new Katangowa ICT and Business Park will house ultramodern facilities, including:
- Hotels and recreation centres
- A banking hall and business support services
- Car parks and access roads
- Fire and police stations
Oki added that relocating the ICT hub from Ikejaโoriginally designed as a residential community but overwhelmed by commercial growthโwill restore sanity to the suburb while giving traders a purpose-built environment for expansion.
Traders and Leaders React
The Iyaloja of Computer Village, Chief (Mrs.) Abisola Azeez, thanked Governor Sanwo-Olu for advancing the project, noting that the new ICT hub would create better opportunities for traders and customers.
