GOC 6 Div Flags Off Inter-Brigade Combat Proficiency Competition in Elele, Rivers State
The 2026 Inter-Brigade Combat Proficiency Competition commenced at 5 Battalion, Elele Barracks, Rivers State, with the General Officer Commanding 6 Division and Land Component Commander, Joint Task Force (South-South), Operation DELTA SAFE, Major General Everest Okoro, flagging off the event. He was represented by Brigadier General Abubakar Aliyu. The competition is designed to ensure troops remain physically fit and combat-ready.
A statement by Lieutenant Colonel Umar Adam, Acting Deputy Director, 6 Division Nigerian Army Public Relations, said the competition will assess troops’ resilience, discipline, and operational preparedness, while enhancing leadership qualities and professional dedication. It is in line with the Command Philosophy of Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, which emphasises continuous training and retraining for military professionalism.
Brigadier General Aliyu stressed that such competitions are critical to the Army’s operational readiness, noting that the leadership remains committed to developing competent, disciplined, and combat-ready personnel.
He added that participants will be tested in professional military knowledge, leadership, marksmanship, and tactical proficiency.
