Gov Fintiri Flags Off N14.9bn Mubi–Maiha Road Reconstruction, Says ‘No One Will Be Left Behind’

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has officially flagged off the construction of the 24.1kilometre Mubi Maiha Road project, marking another major step in his administration’s commitment to infrastructure development in Adamawa State.

The project, which was launched at the Mubi Maiha Road junction, is designed to enhance transportation, promote cross border trade, and facilitate easier movement of people and goods between Nigeria and neighbouring Cameroon.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony in Mubi, Governor Fintiri said the project reflects his administration’s philosophy of ensuring that no one is left behind and nothing is left untouched.

He explained that although the Mubi Maiha road is a federal road, his government decided to intervene to ease the hardship faced by residents and travelers who use the route daily. The Governor said the road, when completed, will enhance commercial activities and strengthen international relations with neighbouring Cameroon.

Governor Fintiri revealed that the project, awarded at a total cost of about 14.9 billion naira, has already received 40 percent payment to the contractor to ensure speedy completion. He assured the people of Mubi and Maiha that the project would not be abandoned and urged the contractor to maintain high quality standards.

The Governor also announced plans to flag off additional road projects, including the Mubi Gella and Ahmadu Bello roads, as part of ongoing efforts to open up communities and promote economic growth across Adamawa State.

Delivering his speech, the Commissioner for Works and Energy Development, Adamu Atiku, praised Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for his outstanding leadership and commitment to infrastructure development in Adamawa State.

He described the governor as the architect of modern Adamawa, saying the present administration has set a new standard for good governance through people centered development.

The Commissioner added that the Ministry of Works and Energy Development has been working tirelessly on major projects, including roads, bridges, drainages, culverts, and flyovers the first of their kind in the history of the state.

Adamu Atiku explained that the Mubi Maiha Road, awarded to Triacta Nigeria Limited at a total cost of 14.98 billion, will be completed within 15 months, though he assured that work will be finished ahead of schedule.

He called on residents of the affected communities to cooperate with the contractors to ensure smooth and timely completion of the projects for the benefit of all.

In his remarks, the representative of the contractor, Engineer Wajib, assured that the Triactor Company will deliver the Mubi Maiha road project on time and to high standards. He said the project represents more than just a road on the map but a vision for better connections, safer travel, and stronger communities. pledging that the company will ensure quality work that reflects the progress and development of Adamawa State.

Some community leaders gave goodwill messages, thanking Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for flagging off the road construction project, which they described as a long awaited development that will greatly benefit the people and improve transportation and economic activities in the area.
