Imo Agog as Prince Amadi’s Daughter Marries Abuja Billionaire Power Okoro in Grand Traditional Celebration
It was a festival of culture, love, and grandeur on Saturday, September 6, 2025, as Imo State came alive for what many described as the traditional wedding of the year. The Eziama community in Ikeduru Local Government Area witnessed an extraordinary celebration as Prince Charles Amadi (popularly known as Charlvon), billionaire oil magnate and respected community leader, gave out his daughter, Amarachi Amadi, in marriage to Abuja-based real estate mogul, Chief Ikenna Power Okoro.
The historic ceremony took place at the Amadi family’s expansive palatial country home, seated on over 20 hectares of land with a lakeside view. The venue radiated glamour and excitement, transforming into a convergence point for eminent personalities—captains of industry, political leaders, traditional rulers, and well-wishers—who gathered to honour the Amadi and Okoro families.
The marriage ceremony beautifully blended Igbo and Benin traditions, with the radiant bride, Amarachi, accompanied by her Edo bridal train. In keeping with custom, she sought out her groom, Chief Okoro, offering him palm wine in a symbolic gesture of marital acceptance.
Former Imo State Governor, His Excellency Chief Dr. Ikedi Ohakim, chaired the occasion. In his goodwill message, he praised Prince Charles Amadi and his wife for their strong family values and commended their son, Hon. Engr. Akarachi Amadi, Member representing Mbaitoli/Ikeduru Federal Constituency, for his effective service to the people.
Guests were treated to a full display of Igbo culture—traditional dances, gospel music, and vibrant attire that highlighted the pride of Igbo and Benin heritage. Lavish meals and fine wines flowed freely, as dignitaries exchanged pleasantries in an atmosphere of joy and unity.
Among the notable attendees were Deputy Governor of Imo State, Lady Chinyere Ekomaru (representing Governor Hope Uzodimma), Chief Barr. Reuben Okoro (father of the groom), traditional rulers including HRM Eze Dr. Cletus Ikechukwu Illumoanya (Obi of Obinugwu) and HRM Eze Oliver Ohanwe, as well as key political figures such as Chief Barr. Nnamdi Anyaehie, Hon. Uche Nwosu, Chief MacDonald Ebere Ph.D, Chief Tony Jude Iwu Amadi, and Rt. Hon. Ike C. Ibe.
The event was further graced by prominent business leaders, academics, and community stakeholders. The Queen Mother, HRM Ugoeze Dr. Shirley Ngozi Okwudimma, captivated attention in her regal red and black ceremonial attire, adorned with bronze and emerald details, embodying elegance and royalty.
With hashtags #AILOVE2025 and #POWERINLOVE2025, the ceremony trended across social platforms, sealing its status as a landmark celebration. For the Eziama community and beyond, it was not just a wedding but a reaffirmation of Igbo kinship, heritage, and the enduring beauty of cultural traditions.
