The Lagos State Government has officially kicked off the 19th Edition of the Head of Service (HOS) Games, with Head of Service Mr. Bode Agoro leading the opening ceremony at the Lagos State Rehabilitation Centre, Isheri-Berger.

Speaking at the event, Agoro said the primary aim of the annual games is to promote sportsmanship, physical fitness, mental wellness, and camaraderie among public servants across the state.

He urged participants to play fairly and uphold discipline, noting that winners in both male and female categories would receive trophies and prizes to celebrate this year’s milestone edition.

Agoro commended Team Public Service Office (PSO) and Team LASUTH for setting a high standard of play while encouraging other agencies to remain motivated and participate actively. He also revealed that the organising committee is working on a new competition model to be unveiled later this year, giving the Games a refreshed outlook for the future.

Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary, Public Service Office, Mrs. Sunkanmi Oyegbola, who doubles as Vice Chairman of the Local Organising Committee, said the state government is delighted with the participation of various MDAs, stressing that the Games are about fitness, staff well-being, and sportsmanship.
