Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Mbah, has officially flagged off the construction of the 5,000-shop Nsukka International Market, describing it as a bold step toward shared prosperity for the people of Enugu North Zone.

The world-class commercial hub, set for completion by the end of 2025, is expected to transform trade, create jobs, and strengthen the local economy. The governor assured that traders affected by the Ogige Market redevelopment would have first priority for shop allocation, emphasizing that “development must never leave anyone behind.”

Governor Mbah noted that the new market will complement the already completed modern Nsukka Transport Terminal, further enhancing infrastructure, commerce, and connectivity in the zone.

During the visit, the governor also commissioned the School of Health–Stadium–GRA–Secretariat–Prisons ring road, reconstructed by the Executive Chairman of Nsukka LGA, Hon. Engr. Jude Asogwa. He engaged with traditional rulers in the area, acknowledging their support and inspiration for the state’s development vision.

Expressing gratitude for the warm reception, Governor Mbah reaffirmed his commitment to building an inclusive and thriving Enugu State where “no zone is left behind and every community thrives.”
