Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property, urging residents of Kirawa community in Gwoza Local Government Area to remain resilient in the face of recent challenges.

The Governor gave the assurance during a sympathy visit to Kirawa, following an attack last Monday that claimed at least three lives and led to the destruction of homes and shops by fire.

Kirawa, a border community near the Republic of Cameroon, was initially displaced by Boko Haram insurgents in 2014. The area was resettled in 2022 under the Zulum administration, allowing residents to gradually rebuild their lives.

Socio-economic activities, particularly farming, had resumed and flourished until the recent attack disrupted the community’s progress.
