As part of preparations for the 2025/2026 academic session, Education District II has convened a pre-resumption meeting with school principals at the Immaculate Heart Comprehensive School Hall.

In his keynote address, the Supervising Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary (TG/PS) praised principals for their outstanding performance in the recently concluded West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), describing the results as a testament to their hard work and dedication.

“You have all made us proud with the remarkable results achieved in the last WAEC examinations. However, we must not rest on our oars. Rather, we should consolidate these successes and aim even higher,” the TG/PS charged.

He urged principals to embrace teamwork, stressing the importance of collaboration with vice principals and teachers in driving better academic outcomes.

On preparations for resumption, the TG/PS directed that teachers resume one week before students to allow adequate planning. He also emphasised discipline and decorum, instructing principals to ensure proper conduct and dressing among staff and students at all times.

Addressing administrative duties, the TG/PS reminded principals of their role as accounting officers of their schools. He highlighted the need for proper record-keeping, accountability, and safeguarding of government property, while insisting on the preparation of detailed handover notes in the event of redeployment.

He also cautioned against the unauthorised use of school premises, stressing that only activities duly approved by the Honourable Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, through the District, would be allowed.

While reaffirming the primacy of academic excellence, the TG/PS encouraged principals to promote co-curricular activities for the all-round development of students.

Concluding his address, he urged newly appointed principals to seek guidance, communicate effectively, and collaborate with colleagues to ensure continuous improvement and sustainable results across schools in the District.
