Naval Commandants Visit 6 Division, Seek Continued Support

The Commandant of the Nigerian Naval College (NNC), Ebubu–Eleme, Rear Admiral Johnson Adekunle Adewoyin, and the Commandant of the Nigerian Navy Basic Training School (NNBTS), Rear Admiral Abdurahman Mohammed, have paid separate courtesy visits to the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 6 Division, Nigerian Army, Major General Emmanuel Eric Emekah, at the Division’s Headquarters, Port Harcourt Barracks.

A statement by Lieutenant Colonel Danjuma Jonah Danjuma, Acting Deputy Director, 6 Division Army Public Relations, said the visits were in line with a long-standing military tradition that requires commanders to pay courtesy visits to formations and units within their areas of responsibility upon assumption of command.

According to the statement, the visits were aimed at strengthening cordial working relationships with the Division and soliciting the GOC’s support in the effective discharge of their duties.

While welcoming the Commandants, Major General Emekah congratulated them on their appointments, noting that leadership of military training institutions provides a unique platform to positively shape the careers and professional development of officers and men.

The GOC urged the Commandants to add value to the system through effective leadership and high-quality training, assuring them of the Division’s continued support and cooperation in training and operational engagements.
