1,187 Cadets Graduate from Nigeria Police Academy

…Commissioned as Assistant Superintendents of Police

The President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, on Saturday, 29 November 2025, commissioned 1,187 cadets of Regular Course 7 into the Nigeria Police Force as Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs).

The colourful Passing Out Parade (POP), held at the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, Kano State, marked the culmination of five years of intensive academic and professional training. The newly commissioned officers also earned Bachelor’s degrees across various disciplines, equipping them with both academic grounding and modern policing skills.

Represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, CON, the President congratulated the graduates and urged them to uphold integrity, professionalism, and respect for human rights in the discharge of their duties. He reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to comprehensive police reforms, improved welfare, and strengthened operational capacity.

According to a statement signed by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, anipr, the ceremony attracted a distinguished gathering, including Shanta Emily Knowles of the Royal Bahamas Police Force; Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf; representatives of the Chief of Defence Staff and Service Chiefs; members of the National Assembly; heads of security agencies; senior serving and retired police officers; the Academy’s provost and faculty; as well as traditional rulers, religious leaders, families, and well-wishers.

Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, praised the resilience, discipline, and dedication of the 1,187 new officers. He reminded them that the foundation of effective policing lies in character and professionalism, and charged them to remain committed to safeguarding lives and property, maintaining order, and strengthening public trust in the Force.

The Nigeria Police Force reiterated its commitment to producing highly trained, educated, and professional officers capable of addressing the nation’s evolving security challenges.
